Operationalisation of Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO)

Naini Aerospace Limited (NAeL) has established a DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) at its facility in Naini, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The RPTO is approved to conduct training for Micro and Small category drones, in accordance with the applicable guidelines and requirements of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) from July 2023.

RPTO provides structured and practical training to aspiring drone pilots, with a focus on flight safety, operational skills and responsible drone operations, as per the guidelines of DGCA. 

The RPTO has successfully trained 70+ drone pilots, who have been issued Remote Pilot Certificates (RPCs) under the DGCA framework. NAeL has also contributed to the Government of India’s “Drone Didi” initiative, imparting drone pilot training to women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in collaboration with a private-sector drone company. This initiative supports women’s empowerment, skill development and the adoption of drone technology in rural and agricultural applications.

Through its RPTO, NAeL is contributing to the development of a skilled and certified drone workforce and supporting the growth of India’s rapidly expanding UAV and drone ecosystem, in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
